There are several sites on the west bank of the Nile opposite of Luxor. The Ramesseum is a sizable temple complex on the west side of the Nile near Luxor. I did not get to visit it. I saw it from the air during my Hot Air Balloon ride. The two huge statues that are near the Ramesseum are called the Colossi of Memnon.
